Oliver Peoples, a luxury eyewear brand based out of Southern California, is going to be opening its second Canadian boutique on October 12th. The new store will be located on Alberni Street’s “luxury zone” in downtown Vancouver. It will carry a vast selection of sunglasses and optical frames, including their own limited edition version of the OP-505. The boutique will have its own on-site optician to provide exams and assist customers with their selections. Just as the sunglasses and handcrafted optical frames are inspired by vintage styles and the Southern California culture, in a press conference, Giampiero Tagliaferri, the creative director of Oliver Peoples, stated that the interior of the store will be designed to reference the natural beauty of Vancouver by utilizing various nature based elements. Throughout the world, Oliver Peoples currently operates 35 retail chains, which includes locations in Miami, Rome, and Hong Kong. Rocco Basilico, the CEO of Oliver Peoples, hopes that the Vancouver store will “create a unique Pan-Pacific bridge” to connect its customers to Hong Kong.
